The Golkonda Corporate Responsibility Policy
We at The Golkonda believe that responsible tourism is the key to conserving our World’s natural resources.

The Golkonda Hyderabad shall have a deep sense of commitment to being good corporate citizens and promoting the sustainable development of the local community.

We hope our actions together with our customers and staff can make a positive impact on Natural resource conservation, Poverty eradication and in providing sustainable livelihood and healthcare to the weaker sections of the society.

We shall do this not only by creating value but also by placing highest possible value on our Community, Environment and Employees

Social Commitments
We at The Golkonda, recognize our corporate social commitments in our various roles. In our endeavor to be socially responsible, we have found out that a lot can be done to support selected communities not just in the near vicinity of our premises but also provide assistance to local authorities and charities in selected village communities.

All activities, donations and sponsorships, if any, raised by the employees with or without customer and suppliers support will contribute to the Hotel’s objective of supporting local communities.

Local Activities
1.Free Medical camps for the Beggar community near Masab Tank.
2.Distribution of bed linen among them.
3.Visits to orphanages / old age homes – With support of provisions / food or old clothes for support for purchase of school books.
4.Provision of lively hood for differently-abled people.
Selected Village Community Activities:
NRR foundation run by the promoter of our hotel, Mr. N. Rami Reddy, is very focused in its approach in developing needy village communities. With an altruistic concern for human welfare and advancement, the foundation with the untiring efforts of Mr. Reddy, has been able to generate monies worth up to $ 387,940 USD from the government authorities and also put in his own money of up to $ 266,016 USD to set up a full-fledged upper primary and secondary school and drinking water schemes for two village communities having a total population of 6000 people.
The Hotel has also been involved in extending support to “Hrudaya Foundation, a charitable organisation in collaboration with the US based Cure a Little Heart Foundation city by donating $ 4,433 USD. This organization conducts free heart surgeries to children.

Another major activity was the assistance provided to the flood affected victims in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh. Bed and bath linen and accessories were distributed by organizing facility camps.

GREEN POLICY
Our main focus for 2010 is on reducing consumption and improving efficiency in our Energy and Waste Management processes. The strategy is to investigate and implement new technology or practices to reduce levels and to agree ongoing best practice without compromising our quality and standards.

Our aim is to work towards continuous improvement in environmental management and performance by employees and to encourage support from our loyal customers.

Principles
1.Employees are encouraged to work in an environmentally responsible manner.
2.Suppliers are encouraged to operate in an environmentally responsible manner and such encouragement is made a condition of any supply.
3.Where appropriate, encourage support from customers by providing them with products and services that are environmentally responsible in use.
4.Our customers are made aware of all environmental policies in the specific areas where they are in direct contact.
Daily actions
On a day to day basis our team members undertake the following actions in their contribution to helping the environment
1.Recycling of Paper, Plastic, Card board, Glass, Mobile Phones, Waste Cooking Oil, Toner Cartridges and Dry Cleaning Coat Hangers.
2.Provide newspapers on request to avoid wastage and recycle any spares.
3.Using eco-friendly and bio-degradable products.
4.Daily monitor water/gas/electricity consumption to aid reducing consumption levels.
5.Provide environmental awareness and training as part of the new staff induction programme.
6.On going environmental and awareness training.
7.Our CSR team is dedicated as an environment-conscious group driving forward new initiatives.
GUEST PARTICIPATION IN PRODUCTS AND PRACTICES
Water Conservation
Dear Guest,
Our esteemed guests can do their part by opting to have their linens changed on the second night of their stay, in order to reduce the amount of water used in the cleaning process.

Our Guests can participate in the terry re-use program, in which they can hang their towels back on the rack and reuse or simply place the towels on the floor or in the bathtub to be replaced by clean, fresh ones
