We at “The Golkonda Hotel” endeavour to exceed our guests’ expectations by consistently delivering outstanding services and experiences. Recognising that privacy is important to our esteemed guests, we have developed the The Golkonda Hotel Privacy Policy which explains our practices regarding the personal information we collect when you visit our hotel, restaurants, bar, website and when you fill a form and/or drop in your business card.

We know that you are concerned how information about you is collected, used and shared, and we appreciate your trust that we will do so carefully and sensibly. This notice describes our privacy policy. By visiting www.thegolkondahotel.com you are accepting the practices described in this notice.

How and why we collect personal data.

Unauthorised use of this website may give rise to a claim for damages and/or be a criminal offence. The information you provide helps us know and serve you better.

• We receive and store the information you enter on our website or give us in any other way, including, for example, when you stay at The Golkonda: Your name and contact information; date of birth; how you prefer to be addressed in communication from us, preferred modes of communication; your job designation and business address; spouse name, anniversary, credit card details, including the three-digit code that appears on the back of your credit card; member number of our loyalty programme/s, membership numbers of frequent flyer or travel partner programmes you are enrolled into, your dates of arrival and departure from our hotel/restaurants/other outlets, your preferences when you stay or dine with us, your transaction history with us; offers you have availed of from third party marketers in response to communication from us. We may also record details on guests who have stayed or dined with you in our hotel, including their names and contact details.
• The provision of any information by you is voluntary except where otherwise stated. However, where you choose not to provide certain information, you may not be able to take advantage of some of our features. We use the information that you provide for such purposes as reserving a room or any other products we may offer, responding to your requests, customizing our services to your preferences and communicating with you by email, mail, fax, phone or other means. We also use such information for statistical purposes though these statistics will not identify you personally.
• Personal data provided by you on behalf of another person: If you are entering data on behalf of another person, you warrant to us that you are authorised by that person to enter their personal data onto our system, and that the information is accurate and correct. If any non-compliance by you with respect to this provision results in any loss or damage being incurred by us, you may be required to compensate us in respect of such loss.
• Automatic information: We receive and may evaluate certain types of information whenever you interact with us. For example, like many websites, we obtain certain types of information when your Web browser accesses www.thegolkondahotel.com including your IP address, browser type and operating system. This information helps us to understand our customers but does not identify you personally and will not be stored with any other information we have obtained from you.
• Information from other sources: For reasons such as improving personalisation of our services (for example, providing recommendations or special offers that we think will interest you), we might receive information about you from other sources and add it to your existing information. We will not, however, share your existing information with any third parties except where this is necessary to provide you with services or offers on our behalf. Information about our guests is important for us in order to provide you maximum comfort and a legendary experience whilst staying in one of the hotels operated by us.

We may therefore share information amongst ourselves, with any hotels operated by us and with third party service providers engaged by us or engaged by or on behalf of any hotels operated by us who help manage your data and communicate news and promotions to you but we will not sell, rent or give away any information to third parties. Your data will be treated in strict confidence and will only be retained for so long as it is necessary or required by law. Such data will be destroyed once its requirement is extinct or you request it.

We may provide your information to third parties for the purpose of processing that information strictly on our behalf. In such circumstances, the third-party processors may not use the information for any purpose except such processing and may not, for example, provide it to any other person or use it for marketing unless upon our direction.

How Secure Is my Information?

We work to protect the security of your information during transmission by using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), which encrypts information you input and which is certified by the Secure Server Certification Authority.

We reveal only the last four digits of your credit card numbers when confirming a reservation. Of course, we transmit the entire credit card number to the appropriate credit card company for verification.

What information can I access?

www.thegolkondahotel.com gives you access to your own profile which is accessible via login. You may, and we kindly ask you to do so, update that information, if required.

Information about you that you may access are:

• Your Name, Address and Contact Details
• Your Room Requests that you previously entered on the Internet
• Your Credit Card details that you previously used, of which only the last 4 digits of the number is shown at all times

What can I do If I have any questions or concerns?

Our Data Protection Manager will be happy to answer any concerns or queries you may have relating to the use or storage of your personal data. You have the right to access such data and to require a correction to any data which is incorrect.

Should you want to opt out.

Please send an email to unsubscribe@thegolkondahotel.com. We will update your preferences as soon as reasonably practical. However, do note, if you opt out of The Golkonda emailing list, as described here, we will not be able to remove your personal information from the databases of affiliates, franchisees or business partners with which we have already shared your personal information, prior to the date of your opt-out request.

Dos & Don’ts to ensure your security

For your own privacy, we advise you not to include sensitive personal information in any emails you may send to us. Please do not send credit card numbers or any sensitive personal information to us via email.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 18 years of age. As a parent or legal guardian, please do not to allow your children to submit personal information without your permission.
